As owner of Nelson Illustration since 1988, several of Gayle’s illustrations can be seen in the Wiregrass area. 30+ portrait illustrations of doctors can be viewed at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center, and 7 educator portraits can be seen at Wallace Community College, both in Dothan, AL. Gallery Shows include the Wiregrass Museum of Art, Dothan AL, “Journeys” in 2001; Lowe Gallery of Art, Syracuse, NY “Engraved Impressions in Print” in 2004; and the AOP (Association of Photographers) Gallery Show, London, “Sublime, Representations of Awe in Contemporary Imagery” in 2006.
In between 4 grandchildren, 10 acres, 3 labs, 4 cats, and a full-time job at Troy University, Gayle juggles engravings, wood burning projects, and a large oil in the works for the past 2 years.
