Her most recent interest is in using encaustic in combination with oil and collage. Her love of materials and interest in learning new and old techniques has contributed to her repertoire of skills and knowledge. A native Floridian Pamela received a BAE degree in Education from the University of Florida and taught seven years in the public school system in Marion and Levy Counties. Returning to college after a ten year hiatus she received a BFA from the Ringling School of Arts and Design, and a MFA from the University of Mississippi. For the past seventeen years she has been teaching painting, printmaking, and drawing in the Department of Art and Design at Troy University. Pamela resides with her husband Jerry in Goshen a small community west of Troy, Alabama.

Artist / Instructor Pamela Standridge Allen believes in the power of imagery. "It is through the object, its symbolism or meaning, that we understand content." Primarily considered a traditionalist, Pamela's focus is in two-dimensional art which encapsulates using multiple media, combining techniques and varying surfaces.
