Andrew Stalder has been an eCampus instructor of ART1133 Visual Arts at Troy since 2006 and also teaches various studio art and graphic design courses for other schools as well. Andrew’s background is in painting and drawing but he also dabbles in digitally produced art and is very interested in Modern and Contemporary Art Theory and Criticism.  For the last few years he has used things like digital photography and digital image manipulation to create mixed-media works that often combine painting and photography.  More often than not, you can find Andrew in the studio mired in the paint.

Currently, Andrew has a two year old web-based project (1000 Texas Trucks) in progress that is intended to document and display the deeply-rooted truck culture that exists in Texas (his home state).  People from all over the state of Texas are invited to submit photos of their trucks along with some background.  Andrew plans to exhibit all 1000 photos after they have been collected along with the background information in a gallery in Dallas/Ft. Worth as well as on the web.  (At least) two other painting projects are in the works: one is based on the meanings of flowers that we give as gifts and the other is loosely based on the earth (sky, ground, etc…).
