Camp ASCCA (Alabama's Special Camp for Children and Adults) is located on Lake Martin and is the largest camp of its type in the world! During the academic year (except for January and February) volunteers arrive on Friday afternoon, attend an orientation session, spend the weekend with the campers, and return home on Sunday afternoon. There is a great variety of activities (boating, fishing, riding the zip line, visiting the petting zoo, etc.). Volunteers always enjoy the opportunity to interact with those with special needs in a relaxed environment. |
