The concept of Prolepsis embodies the College of Education's new quality assurance process in regards to its teacher preparation programs. The word Prolepsis was carefully chosen to describe a future-oriented, continuous improvement effort to achieve a quality operation that is being initiated in the present. Prolepsis resonates precisely with Troy University's determination to be "tomorrow's university today."
Prolepsis has a twofold purpose. First, it provides a structure within the College of Education to realize continuous quality improvement in every aspect of teacher preparation. Secondly, Prolepsis serves as the repository and dissemination mechanism for all essential data about program descriptions, operations, assessments and revisions. Prolepsis tracks all relevant operational information for both students and faculty. Prolepsis provides a fulcrum for data driven decision making.
Divided into two main parts, Prolepsis has both a communication and an assessment function. The web site is carefully designed to affect and monitor evidence of quality throughout the educator preparation effort. Prolepsis represents a major shift away from periodic, crash preparation for an accreditation visit to a disciplined system that achieves and demonstrates ongoing excellence in teacher preparation.
