College of Health and Human Services
CHHS Alumni
Dear College of Health & Human Services Alumni:
We are pleased to feature an Alumni Corner on each department web page within the College of Health & Human Services. It was designed to provide as a means to keeping up with old friends and as a way for the college to keep you updated on the events and programs in the College. We hope this feature is helpful and you visit it often. We welcome any comments or suggestions on how we might improve this feature.
Please sign our guestbook and take this opportunity to update your address and contact information for our alumni records. We would love to hear about your achievements and significant life events and post them on your department’s web page. Look for your posting, and those of your classmates on your department’s web page. We would also invite you to make plans to come by and reacquaint yourself with former classmates and faculty this year at the College of Health & Human Services’ tent during our Homecoming festivities. We look forward to seeing you.
Alumni involvement is essential for the College of Health & Human Services to continue to improve the quality programs it offers. As you enter the workplace, your feedback on the quality of the education you received as a student in the College of Health & Human Services can help us identify areas of our programs that could improve. If you graduated last year or five years ago, please let me encourage you to complete Alumni survey. Your feedback is important to us.
There is so much going on in the College of Health & Human Services! For example, the Master’s of Science in Nursing Program (MSN) is preparing for a great gala event in celebration for its 25th year of existence as a graduate program in 2008. Our program has graduated over 660 graduates and we want them all to be a part of this great event. In addition, the graduate nursing program has submitted a proposal for the first doctoral program to possibly be offered by Troy University to the Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE). The Doctor of Nursing Practice is the degree that will assist our School of Nursing in increasing the number of qualified, competent advanced practice nurses within the state of Alabama and this nation. Watch for the website updates as information is available during the approval process and the final decision made by ACHE on this proposal.
Finally, I would like to encourage you to give back to the College of Health & Human Services. Donations to the Alumni Association may be earmarked for the College of Health & Human Services Alumni Scholarship Fund. Monies donated to this fund will support scholarships for the children of alumni pursuing degrees in academic programs offered within the college. For more information on this scholarship fund, contact Faith Ward.
Your continued support of the College of Health & Human Services is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact us when we can be helpful to you and come back to visit us often. Go Trojans!
