The Troy University Human Services Program mission is dedicated to student preparation that advances the Human Services discipline though educational excellence, meaningful research, effective teaching and student learning. The purpose of the Human Services Program is to graduate quality entry level human service professionals. The programs vision is to assure human service professionals with human services knowledge, values and skills to practice within the context of a diverse multicultural, global and technological oriented society. An educational environment for learning is provided which upholds the traditions, values and ethics of the human services profession.

In keeping with the above –stated mission, the following four general goals are identified.

Goal 1: Build on a liberal arts base in preparing beginning entry level human services workers who have contextual knowledge of diversity, mulicualrialsim, and a worldview that are founded in broad social and behavioral science knowledge base.

Goal 2: Provide an educational environment for learning that upholds the traditions of a human service professional which includes a strong work ethic, intergrity, honesty and professional conduct.

Goal 3: Develop mentor and expect an attitude of excellence in teaching, learning and service and;

Goal 4: To meet the personnel needs of the human services community in the state of Alabama, the nation and the international community
