Math & Science Complex Mathematics

The Department of Mathe-matics and Physics offers three majors in mathematics, a non-teaching mathematics major, a comprehensive mathematics education major and, a mathematics education major.   These programs in mathematics emphasize attention to each student and feature small classes, quality instruction by a well-qualified faculty with diverse mathematical backgrounds, effective advising, a departmental Math Club, and free tutoring.  In addition, the Department has a computer lab equipped with the latest mathematics software including the computer algebra system Maple along with MATLAB and Geometer’s Sketchpad.  

Geomatics Program

Our Geomatics Program has been described as a ‘practical’ program with a focus. Our objective is to provide you the knowledge, communications skills, and ability to successfully pursue a career as a geomatics professional. more...

Physics/Physical Science Program Physics Program

The Department of Mathematics and Physics offers two education majors, the comprehensive science education major and the physics education major.  The comprehensive science major is a combination of courses in biology, physics, chemistry, and earth and space sciences.   Graduates with of this program become certified to teach any secondary science course.  Graduates with the physics education major become certified to teach secondary physics courses.  The department also offers a pre-engineering program.  This is a two program that prepares students to transfer to another university offering a degree program in engineering.  more.

The CS program is an academic computer training program that prepares its graduates to be successful whether they are entering the fast paced world of commercial computer processing or to continue their academic training by attending graduate school. more ...
