The purpose of the curriculum in the Department of Mathematics and Physics is to prepare students for graduate study, teaching positions, and/or careers in the mathematical and physical sciences, computer science, and geomatics. In addition, the department provides courses to fulfill the needs of students in other fields of study.

 

The majors offered by the department include a non-teaching mathematics major, a mathematics education major, a mathematics comprehensive education major, a science education comprehensive major, a physics education major, a geomatics major, and a computer science major. Minors are offered in mathematics, physics, computer science, and geographic information systems (GIS).
