International Institute for Qualitative Methodology

The International Institute for Qualitative Methodology (IIQM) has named the School of Nursing a multidisciplinary centre for Troy University in recognizing the School's commitment to qualitative research. The International Institute for Qualitative Methodology is an interdisciplinary institute, under the auspices of the Faculty of Nursing, at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The institute was founded in 1998, with the primary goal of facilitating the development of qualitative research methods across a wide variety of academic disciplines.

Goals of the IIQM are to provide leadership to address the issues in qualitative inquiry and to facilitate the development of qualitative methods, to promote excellence in qualitative research through education and research, to provide a forum for collaboration among international experts in the field of qualitative inquiry, and to provide a forum for collaboration among international experts in the field of qualitative inquiry.

Dr. Amy Spurlock, Associate Professor and Coordinator of Research in the TROY School of Nursing, is coordinating the partnership between the School of Nursing and the Institute.
