Pi Alpha Alpha

Pi Alpha Alpha (PAA) is the national organization to recognize scholarship and accomplish in public affairs and administration; to promote the advancement of education and practice in the art and science of public affairs and administration; and to foster integrity, professionalism and creative performance in the conduct of governmental and related public service activities. Troy University is eligible to have PAA Chapter as a member institution of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).

Membership categories include faculty, students (both undergraduate and graduate), alumni, and honorary. Graduate students membership requires a minimum of 3.7 GPA average after 27 graduate level hours at Troy University. Undergraduate student membership requires a minimum of 3.5 GPA in all courses in public affairs and public administration and at least a 3.3 GPA in all course work. Students should be prepared to assume leadership positions in public service. Alumni membership is open to those who meet all requirements of student membership but who have graduated from Troy University.

Pi Sigma Alpha

Pi Sigma Alpha (PSA) is the national political science honor society founded in 1920 at the University of Texas in Austin to encourage and recognize superior achievement in the study of government and politics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Troy University Omega Theta Chapter was charted in 2001. Membership categories include faculty, students (undergraduate and graduate), and alumni.

Graduate and undergraduate student membership requires a minimum of 3.5 GPA average in political science courses (minimum of nine hours) and at least a 3.3 GPA is all course work. Alumni membership is open to who meet all the requirements of student membership but who have graduated from Troy University.
