Gretchen Bernabei’s teaching career spans more than 25 years—and counting. She has most recently taught English at Sandra Day O’Connor High School in San Antonio, Texas, where she was named Educator of the Year in 2003. In addition to high school, she has taught middle school, and will soon return to teaching in an elementary school. Gretchen has shared her experience with other teachers through seminars, journal articles and books offering field-tested techniques for teaching writing . Her newly published The Good Writer’s Kit for Hampton-Brown/National Geographic is a multi-component program for inspiring adolescent writers. More about Gretchen Bernabei...

Josie Javens has been training educators in the United States for the past 20 years. Her workshops incorporate all 5 essential components of a balanced literacy program. She has also presented staff development in Science, Social Science, Math and Reading. Josie's teaching experience includes 15 years with the award winning Irvine Unified School District and 7 years as a lead demonstration teacher in the same district. She has presented workshops, conference sessions, and keynotes nationally with Educators Training Network, Staff Development for Educators and Language Circle/Project Read. Her expertise includes staff development and demonstration lessons for U.S. school districts, schools and County Departments of Education. She is an AB1086 Provider (Literacy) for the State of California and a national provider of NCLB. Josie has also taught educational courses for Sonoma and Sacramento California State Universities. Diane Wheeler provides product information, in-service, and a variety of professional topics to individuals, committees, and groups across the United States. She creates special presentations to focused groups concerning the various aspects of materials as related to their validity, reliability and research base. Especially enjoyable to her are opportunities to relate to parents, teachers and supervisors ways that materials can be used and managed in an audience participation format.
