University Police
Mission
The mission of the Troy University Police Department (TROYPD) is to provide a safe and secure environment that is conducive to learning, research, and service. The department assumes a leadership role in educating the University population about crime prevention and personal safety. The department has adopted a proactive approach to policing that involves cooperation and input from students, faculty, and staff.

TROYPD is located in Hamil Hall. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
To contact the department call 670-3215, 670-3277, or 670-1999 (mobile phone). When the office is closed dispatching is handled through the City of Troy Police Department.
In case of an emergency when the TROYPD is closed, call the City of Troy Police Department at 566-0500.
Services
The department provides a wide range of police services including, but not limited to, investigations of all crimes committed on the campus, processing crime scenes, evidence and property control, testifying in judicial proceedings, making arrests, providing crime prevention services, traffic and crowd control for campus events, maintaining police record and submitting crime reports to the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center.
Crime Prevention
The most important element in your personal safety is your own consciousness of potential dangers in your surroundings. Be alert, and don't put yourself in the position of becoming a victim of crime. Crime prevention is everyone's responsibility.
